You don't.

Most often, it's player fault that a person was scammed, therefore support can't do anything.

How were you scammed?

I have heard tales of people reporting scammers and getting them suspended for a day. But whatever happened, you wont be getting your stuff back.

Here is wher you want to go:

http://www.guildwars.com/support/

you will need to set up a plaync account.

Include as much info as you can, the scammers name the city and dist # and the date and time, be as specific as you can, the more info the better the devs can stop the scammer. Screen caps are good to.

Due to account privacy you will not be told of the actions but if you add the account to your friends list you can kind of track it.

I reported a guy who tried to scam me, next day his character didn't exist anymore. No I was not scammed, because I wasn't stupid enough to do what he asked. However, I "played along" enough to get the screenies needed. Not sure he may of just deleted that char so Anet couldn't find or something but meh all the same

I was perusing the Services Section of Ventari when I noticed a potential scam. Chest Running Services are an easy target for potential scammers. This all depends on whether or not the chest runners actually get any worth while drops but it is very easy to scam as a chest runner.
When chest runners are returning the drops that they get from running keys for customers, they can simply replace the "good" drops with substitutes that they have stashed away in storage or other places.
This is simply a warning as nobody other then the chest runner will really know if they do swap drops.

So even if you think a runner is good luck because he/she always seems to return gold unids 80% of the time, its very possible that they're doing so because they've received a "monster" drop from one of the keys you provided.

Thats why you add them to your friends list so you can track them across all of the characters on the account. =)

Thats what I tried to do but when I typed in his name to add it gave me the character name does not exist error Its what I get for not doing it right away, I haven't got any nasty messages though.

I didnt say i was scammed.

Was selling som ectos in ToA when a guy whispers something like: "i know a trick to duble your ectos".

My first thoaght was scam, so i played along.
We teamed up and he mapped us to Thirsty River. Meenwhile i fired up fraps and started recording after we entered the mission.

The guy tells me to just wait at the startingpoint and he runs the first part of the mission. When he is almost done he says to me: "drop your ectos when i say".
By now i was rolling on the floor with laughter.

"did you drop them" he asks shortly after.
Just for the fun of it i still play along.
"Yes" i say. (Not really dropping them ofc. ^^)

And he zones to the other part of the mission.

"he says something like we have to finnish mission" (dont remember and to lazy to check on screens) :P
This because the ectos would pop up in the "unclaimed items" box when finnished the mission.

As i was a monk i was supose to heal the dude as he moved forward. Wich i dont really bother, so he dies and i die to.
Party returns to Thirsty river outpost and the dude leaves instantly.

This is where i cut the crap.

I pm to him ingame "just so you know i have recorded that"
and now the whining and begging not to report him and stuff starts.
The giberish goes on for a while.
It actually turned out that i was the second or third one who had call his bluff.

So i have screens of our conversationwith him after i blew my cover and a video while its going on.
And no one is able to ban him?

If so, i would post a suggestion in the suggestions forum about a "scammer/cheater/bot" forum to be made. and to have som ppl working on banning scammers if the proof is good enough.

How ever i got a good laugh, atleast. If that is the only thing i get out of it i guess i just have to live with it.

greets.

Not really alot you can do but report the scammer. But reporting it won't get you your gold back Scamming sucks, you just have to be more cautious of who you trust.

It is hard to draw the line with scams. Maybe someone told him that and he believed them?

Report scammers at http://www.guildwars.com/support/.

Also, many scammers pretend to be naive in order to scam people.
